At a Cabinet meeting on February 25, Deputy Prime Minister for Trade Chary Gylydzhov reported on the progress in the construction of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat highway, the state information agency TDH reports .
According to the official, road works are currently being carried out on the section of the Akhal-Mary road. However, for timely construction, it is necessary to purchase additional KAMAZ dump trucks at the expense of the Türkmen Awtoban Joint Stock Company. Their number is not specified.
Acting President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov ordered the construction of the road in a timely manner and noted the fruitful cooperation with Tatarstan, whose KAMAZ vehicles are used in various sectors of the Turkmen economy.
Berdimuhamedov stressed that the transport must meet the soil and climatic conditions of Turkmenistan and have a high carrying capacity.
Recall that during a telephone conversation with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on February 22, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov discussed cooperation with Tatarstan enterprises, including KAMAZ PJSC.
Two weeks ago, when the construction of the second stage (Tejen-Mary) of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat highway began, only Chinese Shacman dump trucks were shown in the TV report.
• On October 29 last year, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov opened the first section (Ashgabat-Tejen) with a length of 203 km of the autobahn and personally tested the new model KAMAZ.
• The autobahn is being built by UIET member Türkmen Awtoban JSC, which is due to complete the $2.3 billion project in December 2023. The autobahn with a total length of 600 kilometers consists of six lanes.
