Guided by the principles of mercy and humanism, in order to further strengthen the unity of Turkmen society, as well as on the occasion of the national holiday of spring, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree pardoning 2,028 convicted citizens at a government meeting. The document exempts pardoned persons from further serving the main sentence of imprisonment.
The head of state instructed the prosecutor general of Turkmenistan, together with the heads of law enforcement agencies, to take the necessary measures so that all pardoned people would be released from prison and soon return home to their families.
Conducting such actions, we create conditions for stumbled people, realizing their guilt, to redeem it with honest work and actively participate in the development of the country, said Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov.
