Turkmenistan is the second largest supplier of fuel to Uzbekistan after Russia, according to the website of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
From January to September, the country imported 289 million liters of motor gasoline worth $ 104 million. Of these, 126.8 million liters of gasoline were supplied from Turkmenistan.
Russia, which is in the first place in terms of supplies, exported 140.5 million liters.
Other major gasoline exporters to Uzbekistan are Kazakhstan (16 million liters) and Iraq (3.6 million liters).
The type of gasoline supplied from Turkmenistan has not been specified. In September 2020, it was reported that Turkmen synthetic gasoline ECO-93 (A-92 Euro-5) was first displayed at the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange.
