The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in his speech at the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, described various aspects of ensuring regional and global security, and said that working together on the Afghan side is an important part of regional security cooperation for Central Asian countries.
The President of Turkmenistan said: "As neighboring countries with special historical relations with Afghanistan, we continue to strengthen efforts aimed at stabilizing the situation in this country, creating conditions for achieving a national agreement through peaceful negotiations, supporting international efforts to fight terrorism, and providing economic and humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan. it should be done," he emphasized. In this context, holding of an international conference on Afghanistan in Tashkent was supported.
The International Conference on Afghanistan will be held in Tashkent on July 25-26 with the participation of representatives of more than 20 countries and international organizations. The main goal of the event is to develop a set of measures and recommendations for the international community's approaches to Afghanistan's stability, security, post-conflict recovery, and the integration of the interests of the multi-ethnic Afghan people and the whole world into its regional cooperation.
The forum was held at the top level of Afghanistan "Security Cooperation and Peaceful Situation in Regional Relations" (March 27, 2018) of the Tashkent International Conference and the top level "Central and South Asia: Regional Interconnection. Threats and Opportunities" (July 15-16, 2021) will be a logical continuation of the Tashkent International Conference.
