TURKMENISTAN TAKES PART IN THE INTERNATIONAL TOURISM EXHIBITION IN AUSTRIA

The largest tourism exhibition Ferien-Messe Wien has started in Vienna, Austria. It takes place in the Austrian capital every January and is one of the largest international travel forums that reflect all modern trends in world tourism.

The exhibition attracts more than 800 representatives of the tourism business from 80 countries. This year, Turkmenistan is one of the 80 participating countries. The participation of Turkmenistan in the event was organized with the support of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Austria.

Banners advertising such sights as the routes of the Great Silk Road, historical monuments inscribed on the UNESCO intangible heritage list, culture, traditions of the Turkmen people and much more became part of the informational design of the exposition of Turkmenistan. A visual part of the exposition was a photo panel depicting the famous historical and cultural monuments and landscapes of Turkmenistan, urban planning in Ashgabat, videos displaying the present day of the country, as well as numerous publications on the development of the tourism industry.

Moreover, during the visit to Austria, Turkmen delegation held meetings with representatives of travel agencies of Austria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic and a number of other countries presenting their expositions at the exhibition. As a result, travel agencies of Turkmenistan have agreed to cooperate with such travel companies as Klaus und die Welt Reiseburo, Off Roadowa. An agreement with representatives of the tourism sector of the Czech Republic on organizing advanced training courses for Turkmen representatives was reached as well.

During the exhibition, visitors were also acquainted with the cultural events planned in Turkmenistan and abroad on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.

The international exhibition will continue its work until January 19, 2020.
