Turkmenistan to host transport conference of landlocked countries

On August 15-16 this year, the transport conference of landlocked developing countries will be held in the city of Turkmenbashi. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the forum will be held at the initiative of Ashgabat under the auspices of the UN.

Participation in the forum was confirmed by delegations from more than 30 states. More than 30 international organizations and financial institutions will also take part in the conference. Among them are the OSCE, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the World Customs Organization, the International Road Transport Union, the International Telecommunication Union, etc.

The Turkmen Foreign Ministry emphasizes that the upcoming transport forum in Turkmenbashi is one of the key stages in preparations for the third UN conference on landlocked developing countries, scheduled for 2024.
