Turkmenistan to increase wages and other payments by 10 percent from January 1, 2023

From January 1, 2023, wages, pensions, state benefits and scholarships will be increased by 10 percent in Turkmenistan. The corresponding decree was signed by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The document prescribes from January 1, 2023 to increase by 10 percent the monthly wages of employees of institutions, self-supporting enterprises and public associations financed from the budget, as well as pensions, state benefits, scholarships for students and trainees.

According to the decree, from January 1, 2023, the minimum pension for veterans of the Great Patriotic War is set at 1,880 manats per month, and the minimum pension for spouses of veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers is 550 manats per month.

In addition, the document establishes the base value for determining the minimum amount of pensions in the amount of 450 manats, and the base value for calculating state benefits in the amount of 430 manats.

The document also prescribes to establish a minimum wage in Turkmenistan in the amount of 1,160 manats and use it to streamline monthly wages.

The decree of the head of state instructs the increase in wages to be ensured by improving the structure of institutions, enterprises and organizations, increasing the efficiency of using production capacities and labor productivity of workers.
