Turkmenistan to provide humanitarian assistance to Pakistan affected by floods

Turkmenistan, guided by the principles of humanism and in order to provide humanitarian assistance to Pakistan affected by natural disasters, will send a cargo of humanitarian aid to the country this month.

The corresponding order was signed by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a government meeting via video link.

The document instructs the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Textile Industry, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, as well as the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the country to donate medicines, medical supplies, food and other goods to Pakistan as humanitarian aid. The organization of sending in September of this year and the transfer of humanitarian cargo to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is entrusted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

According to the Pakistani government, more than 33 million people, that is, one in seven Pakistanis, were affected by floods, almost a million houses were destroyed or seriously damaged.
