Turkmenistan took part in a meeting of special representatives of the Asian region on Afghanistan. The negotiations were attended by representatives of Turkmenistan, Iran, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan on Afghanistan. Turkmenistan was represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Khadzhiyev.
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the current situation in Afghanistan and the efforts of the international community, including the countries of the region, to expand cooperation on Afghan issues. The representative of Turkmenistan, speaking at the talks, noted the relevance of the regional format of interaction in consolidating efforts to address issues of strengthening stability, security and sustainable development of Afghanistan.
Khadzhiev stressed that Turkmenistan is ready to provide and continues to provide humanitarian, in particular food, assistance to residents of Afghan border regions.
