Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov took part in the meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the countries participating in the dialogue "Central Asia + Japan" in Tokyo.
The meeting was also attended by the heads of the foreign ministries of Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
During the talks, an exchange of views took place on topical issues of ensuring regional security, sustainable development, creating favorable conditions for the development of effective partnership in the trade and economic sphere and active exchange in the cultural and humanitarian field.
In his speech, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan noted that the importance of this meeting is due to the need to understand both the current state of the complex of relations between Central Asia and Japan, and to determine their clear guidelines for the near future.
“We are talking, first of all, about uniting the efforts of our countries in order to maintain global peace, stability and security,” the head of the Turkmen foreign ministry said.
