Turkmenistan Welcomes Uzbekistan’s Cultural Delegation in Celebratory Event.

Ashgabat: Today, the Mukam Palace of the State Culture Centre hosted the opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Turkmenistan, marking a significant event in the cultural-humanitarian dialogue between the two nations. According to Turkmenistan State News Agency, this joint cultural event is part of a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening the cooperation between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedova, has been instrumental in promoting the literary heritage of Magtymguly Fragi on a global scale, under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. To celebrate Fragi's 300th birthday anniversary, a resolution was adopted in Uzbekistan, and a feature film was created by Turkmen and Uzbek filmmakers to honor the poet's life and works. These efforts underscore the enduring friendship and neighborhood principles shared by the two countries. The opening ceremony drew participation from key figures, including heads and representatives of relevant ministries from Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, diplomatic representatives, media personnel, and workers of art and culture. Alongside the ceremony, an exhibition showcasing the decorative and applied arts of Uzbekistan was held in the foyer of the Mukam Palace, featuring materials on traditions, culture, natural sights, and the history of the Uzbek people. Speakers at the event highlighted the achievements of the two countries' complex humanitarian partnership, which fosters cultural and artistic enrichment and develops constructive ties. They expressed gratitude to the leadership of both states for facilitating such events, emphasizing that these joint activities continue to identify new areas of mutual relationship and serve as a cultural bridge. The event also featured a vibrant concert by Uzbek artists, showcasing music, song, dance, and ethnographic performances that left a lasting impression on the audience. Spectators responded enthusiastically, applauding each performance. The concert included a group of musicians who demonstrated their skill with ancient Uzbek musical instruments, enhanced by modern technologies that added unique colors to their numbers. Upcoming events as part of the Days of Culture include a meeting of writers from both countries at the State Library of the State Culture Centre on November 19, focusing on the creativity of Magtymguly Fragi. Additionally, the capital's recreation park, Daskent, will host a concert, a fashion show of national Uzbek costumes and dishes, and an exhibition of Uzbek decorative and applied arts.
