A conference was held in the conference hall of the Agricultural Complex of Turkmenistan on the implementation of the national climate change strategy, which was approved by the President of Turkmenistan in a new edition.
The forum, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, was attended by heads and specialists of sectoral ministries and departments, representatives of the scientific community, several universities of the country, as well as international organizations.
At the conference, it was noted that Turkmenistan is currently implementing national projects that directly or indirectly contribute to the adaptation of the country's economy to climate change. Such projects include the construction of the Turkmen lake "Altyn Asyr" ("Golden Age") in the Karakum desert and the national forest program of Turkmenistan.
Over the past decades, climate change has become one of the most difficult challenges for mankind, as was recently demonstrated in New York by the UN Climate Change Climate Summit. Realizing the complexity of this problem, Turkmenistan pays close attention to environmental protection and rational nature management, actively cooperating in these areas with UN agencies and other international structures.
