Turkmenistan’s GDP in January-October 2022 increased by 6.2%. This was stated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a government meeting last Friday, which reviewed the results of the country’s socio-economic development for ten months of this year.
Addressing the participants of the meeting, the head of state noted with satisfaction that the results of the work done over ten months of this year clearly demonstrate the progressive successful development of the country in accordance with the programs envisaged.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov also noted that the construction of large industrial and social facilities continues. In accordance with the plans, 61 large facilities were put into operation during this period, and a number of other facilities are expected to be put into operation by the end of the year.
Among the upcoming tasks, the President outlined further diversification of the economy, an increase in the list of manufactured goods and the expansion of export routes.
At the government meeting, information was also voiced that, according to the results of ten months, compared to the same period in 2021, production increased by 10.9%, the volume of retail trade increased by 10.5%, and the volume of foreign trade turnover – by 39.1%.
The volume of disbursed capital investments from all sources of financing is 5.3% higher compared to the same period in 2021.
It was also reported that compared to the 10 months of 2021, the average monthly wage for January-October increased by 10.4%. Wages, pensions, state allowances and student scholarships are financed in a timely manner and in full.
