Turkmenistan’s Majlis passed a number of bills

The Mejlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan at the sixth meeting adopted a number of new draft laws and regulations.

Deputies reviewed draft laws On Trademarks, On Appellations of Origin, On Psychological Services, as well as draft laws on amendments and additions to other legislative acts. Among the laws that were changed and supplemented are the Criminal Code of Turkmenistan, the laws On notaries and notarial activities, the Air Code, On highways and road activities, the Tax Code, the Sanitary Code, On physical culture and sports, On the legal regulation of the development of the Internet and the provision of Internet services in Turkmenistan , On waste , On horse breeding and equestrian sport and others. All considered bills were adopted unanimously.

The meeting heard a report by the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan, which highlighted the main directions of state policy to respect the economic, social, cultural, political rights and freedoms of citizens of Turkmenistan.

Parliament also reviewed and adopted draft parliamentary resolutions. In particular, the resolutions On ratification of the Strategic Partnership Agreement between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, On ratification of the articles of the agreement on the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector, On ratification of the articles of the agreement on the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investments and Export Crediting were adopted, "On the recognition of the powers of deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan elected in individual constituencies" and others.

Now, the bills passed by the parliament will be sent for signature to the President of Turkmenistan, after which they will acquire legal force.
