On 23 May the newspaper Neitralny Turkmenistan published an announcement encouraging representatives of Turkmen culture and artists to create works of art based on the book authored by President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov.
Film directors, screenwriters, photographers, poets, play writers, arts and crafts makers can submit their work based on the legends, short stories and fairy tales from the book authored by our Hero�Arkadag Turkmenistan, the heart of Great Silk Road at the contest� the announcement says.
Submissions will be accepted until 20 November. The results of the contest will be judged in mid December with finalists being awarded with prizes.
Let us recall that the book was presented at the Elders’ Council session on 9 October 2017. This new writing by the President became a bestseller and its title became the motto of 2018, presentations were held across all the CIS countries, Europe and Saudi Arabia. A film based on it was made, and in the run-up to the New Year Ashgabat’s main square was decorated using themes from the short stories in the book.
