Ashgabat: The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan (SCRMET) reported a total transaction amount exceeding $47 million 469 thousand in its latest auction. Last week, 25 transactions were recorded, showcasing a robust exchange of goods and resources.
According to Turkmenistan State News Agency, entrepreneurs from the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and Afghanistan secured purchases of technical sulfur and liquefied gas produced by SC «Trkmengaz». Additionally, business representatives from the UAE and Afghanistan acquired low-sulfur fuel oil, lighting kerosene, liquefied gas from SC «Trkmennebit», and urea from SC «Trkmenhimiýa». These transactions contributed significantly to the foreign currency earnings in the auction.
Moreover, the auction featured sales of hand-made carpets, cotton yarn, and Portland cement to buyers from the United Arab Emirates and Afghanistan. These items were also traded in foreign currency, further contributing to the total transaction amount of over $47 million
469 thousand.
For the domestic market, local entrepreneurs purchased products such as polypropylene, base oil from SC «Trkmennebit», float glass, Portland cement, packaging film, and cotton yarn. The domestic transactions amounted to over 15 million 362 thousand manats and 222 thousand 870 dollars, highlighting the active participation of Turkmen businessmen in the local market.
