Turkmenistan’s team wins 27 medals and ranks 4th at III World Nomad Games

The closing ceremony of the III World Nomad Games was held in Kyrgyzstan on 8 September.

Turkmenistan's team ranked 4 and took home 27 awards� 10 gold, 5 silver and 12 bronze medals.

The hosting country Kyrgyzstan, won 103 medals (40 gold, 32 silver and 31 bronze medals) to become the winner of the contest.

Kazakhstan's team ranks 2nd (a total of 72 medals � 18 gold, 24 silver and 30 bronze medals), whereas the third place is occupied by Russia's team (a total of 56 medals � 17 gold, 12 silver and 27 bronze medals).

The World Nomad Games, established in Kyrgyzstan, have been held biennially in the city of Cholpan-Ata since 2014.

Out of 37 sports represented in the Games this year athletes competed in 15 various types of wrestling (on horses inter alia), 5 types of horse racing, 5 types of archery, 3 types of hunting contests with falcons and golden eagles and 3 types of intellectual game mankala. Among other sports are ordo, tug of war, cane pulling, arm wrestling and kok-boru.
