Baku: An individual on an international wanted list has been extradited from Ukraine to Azerbaijan, APA reports citing the Prosecutor General's Office. The extradition of Azerbaijani citizen Hikmet Khanlar Valiyev was in accordance with the requirements of the "Extradition Convention" dated December 13, 1957, and was granted by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, it was determined that Hikmet Valiyev committed a criminal act under Article 182.4 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to extortion with threats to obtain a large amount of property. This was in connection with a criminal case investigated by the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Following the decision to involve him as a suspect, an international search was declared for Valiyev.
Hikmet Valiyev was detained in Ukraine and was brought to Azerbaijan under the escort of the Ministry of Justice Penitentiary Service's special convoy.
