UNDP donates second shipment of insulin to Turkmenistan

UNDP handed over to the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan (MHMPT) a second batch of insulins: Novorapid, Novomix, Protafan, as well as Novofine needles and Novopen syringe pens. All insulins were purchased from the manufacturer Novo-Nordisk (Denmark), according to the organization's news release dated September 28.

UNDP announced the transfer of the first batch worth more than $ 1.8 million on September 17. The price of the second is not indicated.

The supply of insulin was carried out within the framework of the UNDP-MEMPT project to assist in the control of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), which was signed in December 2020. According to the organization, the project with a budget of $ 32.8 million is fully funded by the government of Turkmenistan and provides for the supply of vital drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular, oncological, endocrine, neurological and chronic respiratory diseases.
