UNICEF donated more than 250,000 rapid tests for COVID-19 worth more than $600,000 to the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan. The UN unit announced this on November 3 on its Instagram page .
“These rapid tests, along with other available diagnostic methods, will help strengthen infection prevention efforts,” the statement said.
UNICEF and other UN agencies have been providing assistance to Turkmenistan since the beginning of the pandemic, despite the fact that the country’s authorities have not recognized a single case of coronavirus infection on the territory of the state.
