USAID presented the results of the five-year Enterprise Competitiveness Project. The organization informed 24.kg news agency.

The five-year project is aimed at supporting small and medium-sized businesses in Kyrgyzstan to create jobs and increase household incomes.

At least 120 companies received support in expanding production, entering new markets, attracting investments and creation of more than 28,000 jobs for Kyrgyzstanis. These companies have become flagships in their industries, including agriculture, clothing and food production, IT, education and much more.

One of the highlights of the event was the EXPO exhibition, where more than 40 project partners presented their products, including nine crisis centers, which, thanks to the support of the project, launched their own production. Some of the participants also presented unique collections of national women’s clothing.

«The United States is proud to support innovative entrepreneurs by providing them with modern equipment, access to finance, and support in obtaining international certification. Over the past five years, with our support, more than 25,000 jobs have been created at enterprises, 9,000 of which are permanent. In the last two years alone, this made up 11 percent of all jobs created in Kyrgyzstan,» said Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic Steven Rider.
