USAID Trains Turkmen Meteorologists in Modern Weather Forecasting Techniques

At a working meeting on February 21, the acting president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov touched upon the development of relations with Russia, the state information agency TDH reports .

The acting president reminded that April 8 will mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Russia. In this regard, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov was instructed to:

• On February 21-22, visit Moscow on a business trip and hold talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as in other government agencies (the purpose of these meetings is to exchange views on a set of issues for the further development of Turkmen-Russian relations, to determine their long-term prospects);

• discuss the preparation and holding in Turkmenistan this year of the 6th Summit of the heads of the Caspian states;

• together with Russian colleagues to consider the program and agenda of the Parliamentary Forum "Central Asia - Russia" at the level of heads of parliaments, which will be held for the first time in Ashgabat in May;

• together with the Russian side, to organize in the near future a meeting of the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission and discuss the issues of holding the next meeting of the Commission in the second half of this year;

• discuss issues of interaction with the republics, regions and regions of Russia, which are traditional partners of Turkmenistan;

• develop a program of events dedicated to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Russia.

It should be noted that back on February 16, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova , announced that on February 22, Sergei Lavrov would personally meet with Rashid Meredov.
