Uzbek man smuggled 147 “apples” with methamphetamine through Turkmenistan

During a special operation, officers of law enforcement agencies and the Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan detained a foreigner who was transporting an especially large consignment of synthetic drugs. This was reported on October 18 by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic.

The security forces searched a truck with a refrigerator semitrailer, which followed the Iran-Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan route.

During the search, 147 dummies of apples made of foam plastic were seized, inside which there were plastic bags with crystal-like substances of white color - methamphetamine. The driver of the car was a citizen of Uzbekistan.

It is reported that the truck was on its way from Iran, where, in the neutral zone with Turkmenistan, the semi-trailer was interlocked and delivered by a Turkmen tractor to the neutral zone with Uzbekistan. From there, the same driver went to Kyrgyzstan.

Turkmenistan allows only trailers with cargo to enter its territory. They are transported by Turkmen tractors to another border or to the recipient within the country.

A video published by Kyrgyz law enforcement officers shows a Turkmen car number LB 65 77 TR on a trailer, in which dummies of apples were found.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs notes that the total weight of the seized substance was 1 kg 100 grams or 150,000 doses worth $ 531,286 on the "black market".

A criminal case was initiated under the article "Illegal manufacture of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their analogues for the purpose of sale."

Through which checkpoint on the border of Turkmenistan and Iran the cargo passed, is not specified. On October 14, it became known about the opening of the Inchekh-Borun automobile crossing.
