TASHKENT: Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover volume amounted to $48.2 billion from January through September 2024. The data obtained by Trend from the country's Statistics Agency shows that this figure has increased by 7.7 percent year-on-year ($44.7 billion from January through September 2023). Uzbekistan's exports reached $19.7 billion in the first nine months of this year, while imports amounted to $28.4 billion. During this stretch, the trade turnover volume with China was the highest, at $9 billion. Russia came in a close second with a hefty trade turnover of $8.6 billion, while Kazakhstan trailed behind with a respectable $3 billion. As to the country's regions, the city of Tashkent accounted for the largest amount of trade turnover, at $18.6 billion, followed by the Tashkent region ($4.2 billion) and the Andijan region ($3 billion) during this period. To note, the foreign trade turnover volume of Uzbekistan reached $42.7 billion from January through August 2024. This indicator has increased by 6. 7 percent year-on-year ($40 billion from January through August 2023). The nation's exports reached $17.3 billion, while imports totaled $25.3 billion.
