Uzbekistan, India discuss implementation of projects in bunch of areas

SAMARKAND: Uzbekistan and India discussed the implementation of projects in energy, petrochemicals, digitalization, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and the development of transport corridors, Trend reports. This issue was revealed following a meeting between the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and an Indian delegation led by the Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman. Sitharaman opened the meeting by conveying the sincere greetings and best wishes of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Mirziyoyev. The parties reviewed issues concerning the further development of Uzbek-Indian strategic partnership relations and multifaceted cooperation in line with high-level agreements. The meeting emphasized importance of carefully preparing for and holding the upcoming session of the Intergovernmental Commission in November this year, and adopting the Program of Industrial Cooperation during the session. To note, from January through August 2024, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and I ndia reached $586.1 million.
