TASHKENT: Uzbekistan and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) discussed the sustainable development of rural areas and comprehensive development of rural areas (2nd stage) projects, Trend reports. Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Samandar Sadullayev reviewed the projects with representatives of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB). During the meeting, the parties agreed that the objective of implementing these projects is to enhance the primary infrastructure of selected villages, fortify local governance processes in collaboration with the population, foster communication and collaboration with the public, and promote citizen activity. Additionally, IsDB received feedback on the cooperation program for 2022-2026 and the current status of its projects during the meeting. Meanwhile, a total of 170 mahallas in 20 districts of Karakalpakstan, Bukhara, Navoi, and Khorezm regions were covered within the framework of the sustainable development of rural areas project; 157 mahallas in 21 distri cts of Samarkand, Kashkadarya, and Surkhandarya regions were covered within the framework of the comprehensive development of rural areas (2nd stage) project.
