Veterans of Turkmenistan on behalf of the President will receive $10 each – tens and hundreds of times less than in other Central Asian countries

At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on May 6, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree , according to which the leadership of the regions , on behalf of the head of state , will give veterans, as well as the widow of a soldier who died in the war (precisely one widow, - approx. HT) 200 manats each ($ 57.1 at the state rate or $10 at the exchange rate ) and valuable gifts, the state information agency TDH reports.

The same amount was awarded to veterans in previous years. The number of veterans remaining in the country is not known.

Since 2018, May 9 is no longer a day off in Turkmenistan.

The amount of payments in other countries of the region was calculated by the agency "Fergana".

In Uzbekistan, war veterans, concentration camp prisoners and Leningrad blockade survivors will each receive 15 million soums ($1,339) and valuable gifts. There are 236 WWII veterans living in the country.

In Kyrgyzstan, the amount of holiday payments will be 100,000 soms ($1,209). There are 107 veterans in the country.

In Kazakhstan, the amount of payments depends on the region of residence of the recipient and his status. Veterans living in Nur-Sultan and Almaty will receive 1 million tenge ($2,229) each, and 2 million tenge ($4,459) in Aktobe. There are 387 participants in the Second World War in the country.

In Tajikistan, the amount of payments also depends on the region. For example, in Dushanbe, veterans will receive 3,000 somoni ($240), and in the Sughd region - $480. There are 59 veterans in the country.

In Russia, 20,320 veterans received 10,000 rubles ($138) on Victory Day. In some regions, an additional allowance is provided.
