Putin invited the head of Turkmenistan to visit the Russian Federation by phone in April this year.
On May 18, the President of Russia awarded Serdar Berdimuhamedov the Order of Friendship "for his great contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan."
Serdar Berdimuhamedov assumed the presidency in March 2022.
