Water conservation – universal concern, not just limited to women – chairperson

BAKU: Water conservation is universal concern, not just limited to women, the Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs of Azerbaijan Bahar Muradova said at the conference on "Water and Gender Equality," Trend reports. Muradova highlighted that access to clean water in Azerbaijan has not yet reached the desired level. "Historically, women have played a key role in water conservation, but the current times demand new conditions. Water conservation is a task that involves everyone, not just women. At the same time, women's participation in decision-making regarding water resource management can lead to positive outcomes. However, professional skills and training are essential for this. COP29 will provide us with the opportunity to find solutions to this problem. Such events are beneficial not only for Azerbaijan but for all of humanity," she added. The conference is organized jointly by the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs, the State Water Resources Age ncy, and ADA University on the occasion of COP29. The panel session discusses the impact of climate change on women's lives, their role in the protection and management of water resources, motivation to choose specialties in this field, as well as ensuring gender balance in staff appointments.
