Western Azerbaijan Community Issues Statement on Ter-Petrosyan’s Speech

Baku: A video recording of Levon Ter-Petrosyan's speech has recently been circulated in the press, confirming that the ethnic cleansing carried out by Armenia against Azerbaijanis in 1993, when he was in power, was a state policy of Armenia. The Western Azerbaijan Community issued a statement, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, it was noted in the statement that Ter-Petrosyan's declaration, coinciding with his years in power during which Azerbaijani lands were occupied and the majority of the ethnic cleansing policy against Azerbaijanis was executed, is a crucial piece of evidence. This evidence proves Armenia's systematic ethnic cleansing policy and the dangerous ideology that fuels such activities.

The statement further emphasized that Ter-Petrosyan's comments reveal the intentional nature behind the policy of ethnic cleansing and occupation. It highlights the state responsibility of Armenia, the systematic and organized nature of crimes against humanity and peace, and the existence of a specific plan.

In response to these revelations, the Western Azerbaijan Community has addressed letters to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Trk. These letters urge the international community to strongly condemn Armenia's systematic state-level policy of racial discrimination and ethnic cleansing.

The Western Azerbaijan Community remains committed to ensuring that the international community takes a firm stand against Armenia's policy of racial discrimination.
