Tbilisi: World Health Organization (WHO) announced Georgia as a malaria-free country, Georgia Ministry of Health informed, APA’s Tbilisi correspondent reports. The achievement marks a significant milestone for the nation, showcasing its commitment to public health and disease prevention.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze emphasized that this announcement is a recognition of the sustainability of Georgia’s health system. He highlighted that this success demonstrates Georgia’s capacity to tackle substantial and serious challenges effectively.
Hans Kluge, the director of the European Regional Bureau of WHO, extended his congratulations to Georgia for receiving the certification of a malaria-free country.
