At a Cabinet meeting on February 25, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic, Banking and International Financial Organizations Serdar Berdimuhamedov reported on the preparation of an Order on the presentation of cash gifts to the women of the country on behalf of the President on the occasion of International Women's Day. This was reported by the state news agency TDH .
Acting President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a document according to which on March 1-6, 60 manats will be awarded to women and girls working in enterprises, institutions and organizations, regardless of ownership, as well as receiving pensions and benefits, studying in graduate school, doctoral studies and clinical residency with a break from work, students of the courses of the Academy of Civil Service under the President of Turkmenistan with a period of study of at least two years, students, schoolgirls and pupils of kindergartens.
As Chronicle of Turkmenistan previously reported , in connection with the upcoming presidential elections on March 12, the regional administrations received instructions from Ashgabat to pay all salaries, pensions, benefits for February, as well as gifts for women on March 8 by March 10.
In Turkmenistan, every year, in honor of International Women's Day, students who work, receive benefits and pensions from the budgets of relevant organizations for women, but on behalf of the president, are paid 60 manats ($17.1 at the state rate or $3.3 at the black market rate). Housewives and individual entrepreneurs do not receive this money.
