ACWA Power stands ready to partake in SOCAR and Masdar’s green energy export project

BAKU: ACWA Power is ready to take part in the project of export of 'green' energy from the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic through Trkiye to the EU, which is being prepared together with SOCAR and Masdar, Business Development Director of ACWA Power Azerbaijan, Polina Lyubomirova, said during the 12th Caspian Energy Forum in Baku, Trend reports. Meanwhile, the project concerns the possibility of supplying 1 GW of "green" electricity from the autonomy to the EU. Lyubomirova also informed about the progress of works on the construction of wind farms in Khizi and Absheron Peninsula with a total capacity of 240 MW, which will be put into operation in 2025. 'Projects in Azerbaijan are among the priorities of global ACWA Power. In addition to the creation of renewable energy sources and export of energy from renewable energy sources, we are studying issues on the development of hydrogen strategy in Azerbaijan, creation of energy storage facilities, and water desalination,' the company's representative said. Accor ding to her, ACWA Power is ready to share its global experience in the implementation of projects in Azerbaijan. 'We are optimistic about the diversification of the economy in Azerbaijan; many technological innovations are being implemented here.
