BAKU: Electricity production in Azerbaijan, according to preliminary data, decreased by 0.33 percent from January through July 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, amounting to 16.26 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), Trend reports. Data from the country's Ministry of Energy shows that 1.86 billion kWh of the produced electricity accounted for hydroelectric power plants (HPPs), while 13.86 kWh - thermal power plants (TPPs). The country produced more than 29.27 billion kWh of electricity in 2023, which is 272.3 million kWh more than the previous year.
