BAKU: The European Union takes the Azerbaijan Rapid Technical Assistance Facility (AZTAF) seriously and pins high hopes on it to support Azerbaijan in achieving its goals, Head of Cooperation, Delegation of the EU to Azerbaijan, Victor Bojkov, said during today's second annual reporting meeting of AZTAF, funded by the European Union (EU) and managed by the World Bank (WB), in Baku, Trend reports. "The AZTAF program covers key areas closely related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This is a global challenge and an achievement that we must strive for. Within the framework of the multi-year EU program through AZTAF, we are working on important areas such as strengthening women's capital, improving the disability assessment system, developing digital connectivity, and implementing the 'smart villages' program. The European Union, and specifically the EU Delegation in Baku, are pleased to support these initiatives in partnership with the World Bank, as well as several UN agencies that implement our p rojects. Our commitment to strengthening resilience, inclusivity, and sustainability in Azerbaijan remains steadfast," he pointed out. Bojkov emphasized that the progress achieved to date shows that cooperation, despite its ups and downs, continues to move towards a common goal. "Analyzing the achievements of the past year, it is important to look to the future. The European Union and the EU Delegation in Azerbaijan are always ready for cooperation and engagement," he added. To note, AZTAF was launched to support the Azerbaijani government in achieving the goals outlined in the Azerbaijan Socio-Economic Development Strategy for 2022-2026. Source: Trend News Agency
