Two glaciers to be named after UAE Sheikh and King of Saudi Arabia

The Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Judicial, Legal Issues and Regulations of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan approved in the first reading a bill on naming two glaciers in Issyk-Kul region after Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the founder of Saudi Arabia, King Abdulaziz.

Deputy Director of the State Agency for Civil Service and Local Government Affairs Murat Baidyldaev noted that the UAE and Saudi Arabia provide assistance to Kyrgyzstan. «If the bill is passed, Saudi Arabia will allocate $100 million,» he said.

Murat Baidyldaev also stressed that only 10 out of 8,208 glaciers have names.
