On the final day of his official visit to the United Arab Emirates, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the opening ceremony of the Turkmenistan-UAE business forum.
Speaking at the meeting, the head of state noted that the Joint Committee for Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UAE, as well as the Business Council for Cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Emirates, established in 2012, are effective forms of business ties.
“Our country is always open to any effective ideas and proposals, responsible and reliable cooperation. And I regard today’s meeting as an important step towards establishing a strong and long-term trade and economic cooperation between the business communities of Turkmenistan and the UAE, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said in conclusion.
As a result of the business forum, a confidentiality agreement was signed between the Turkmen Agency for Transport and Communications and Abu Dhabi Port Group, an agreement between the state electric power corporation Turkmenenergo and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company – Masdar on cooperation in the implementation in Turkmenistan projects on renewable energy sources, as well as a cooperation agreement between the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan and the First Bank of Abu Dhabi. In addition, agreements were concluded between the business structures of the two countries for the provision of logistics services and various export-import operations.
After completing his participation in the forum, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited the Wahat Al Karama memorial complex, built in honor of the national heroes of the UAE, and the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, where the mausoleum of the first President of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed, is located.
After that, having completed his official visit to the United Arab Emirates, the head of Turkmenistan proceeded to the Abu Dhabi International Airport and departed for his homeland.
