Turkmenistan is presented at the photo exhibition “Cultural heritage in the Commonwealth countries”

Turkmenistan is represented at the photo exhibition “Cultural Heritage in the Commonwealth Countries”, which opened at the headquarters of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Minsk.

The purpose of the exposition, which was organized as part of the year of folk art and cultural heritage in the CIS, is to demonstrate the cultural heritage of the Commonwealth countries, its diversity and commonality. Most of the objects of tangible and intangible cultural heritage presented in the exposition are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List or are candidates for inclusion in it.

As underlined by the participants, cooperation in the humanitarian sphere is one of the key priorities within the Commonwealth. The expansion and deepening of this cooperation contribute to the mutual penetration and mutual enrichment of the cultures of the Commonwealth countries.

The exhibition is also dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the adoption by the UNESCO General Conference of the Convention for the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, to which all Commonwealth states are parties. It is aimed at bringing together the efforts of the international community to identify, protect and comprehensively support outstanding cultural monuments and natural objects on a global scale. The idea of the World Heritage Convention, which has become well-known and popular in the world, can be effectively used to form environmental consciousness and can significantly change the attitude of Russian society towards nature conservation issues.
