President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received foreign guests who arrived in the country to celebrate the International Day of Neutrality, the state information agency TDH reports.
On December 11, the head of state received the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) Kubanychbek Omuraliev , who took part in the International Conference “Dialogue is a Guarantee of Peace”.
The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation and the implementation of joint projects in the field of energy, transport and communications sector and trade.
Whether the issue of Turkmenistan's joining the UTC was discussed is not reported.
At the meeting held on December 10 with the head of the Vozrozhdeniye Group of design and construction companies (Russia) Igor Bukato , the head of state noted that in recent years the holding has acted as a contractor for a number of large road transport infrastructure facilities in Turkmenistan. The last of them is a complex of mudflow diversion facilities in the south of Ashgabat, which the president launched on November 9. Bukato was present at launch.
In turn, the businessman reported on the construction of a number of projects entrusted to the company, which TDH did not name.
With the head of the Turkish company Polimeks Insaat Taahhüt we Sanaýi Tijaret A.S. Erol Tabancu talked about attracting innovative developments of foreign corporations and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Erol Tabanja assured that his company will strictly fulfill its contractual obligations.
The Turkish businessman returned to Turkmenistan this summer. Previously, Polimeks was one of the main construction contractors in Turkmenistan. However, in February 2018, Chronicle of Turkmenistan reported that the Turkish company to which the contract had been awarded suddenly stopped work, and its head, Erol Tabanca, fled Turkmenistan. According to HT sources, the Turkmen side offered him to build the project with the company's own funds and then cover the costs from the profits that the toll road is expected to generate in the future.
On December 9, the president received a UAE delegation led by Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan Al Jaber . It should be reminded that Serdar Berdimuhamedov paid an official visit to this country at the end of November.
At the meeting, the head of state said that it is necessary to prepare bilateral documents "aimed at expanding the Turkmen-Emirati dialogue, stimulating investments, as well as affecting financial and legal issues," TDH notes.
The delegation also met with some vice-premiers. The parties discussed cooperation in the fuel and energy complex, the banking system, processing and industrial sectors, as well as in construction. In addition, they talked about attracting digital technologies, advanced developments and innovations to the country, and the use of environmentally friendly renewable energy sources.
