Turkmenistan and Japan signed a memorandum on cooperation in the field of infrastructure

Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, during his visit to Tokyo, held talks with the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Yasutoshi Nishimura.

During the meeting, the strategic and long-term nature of the economic partnership between Ashgabat and Tokyo was noted. According to the parties, a striking example of this partnership are large-scale projects for the construction of enterprises in the oil and gas and gas chemical industries, implemented in Turkmenistan with the participation of Japanese companies.

The parties discussed the possibility of updating the "road map" of cooperation in the field of infrastructure in Turkmenistan and supplementing it with new, relevant projects. In addition, the interest of the Turkmen side in studying the Japanese experience in green and hydrogen energy, as well as the creation of modern high-tech industries focused on the production of competitive products, was indicated. Following the meeting, the parties signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of infrastructure.
